4. Mulberry Fiber
Mulberry fiber is extracted from the pruned branches of mulberry trees after degumming process, the mulberry fiber extraction process includes removing the skin, chemical cooking, mechanical extraction, rinsing, pickling, softening, drying, combing and other steps, the final average length of mulberry fiber is 31.50 mm, breaking strength is 5.30 cN/dtex, the product is better than or similar to the performance of cotton fiber, and has the silk luster. Mulberry fiber single fiber is short, using process fiber spinning. Bunch fiber length is 27~39mm, linear density is 3.25~4tex, breaking strength is 15~29cN/tex, elongation at break is 4%~12%.
The cellulose content of mulberry fiber is lower than that of sisal, hemp, jute and pineapple leaf fiber, and the pectin content is much greater than that of several other plant fibers. Mulberry fiber degumming, fiber making process can be referred to the process of hemp fiber processing, chemical degumming method, biological enzyme degumming, biochemical combined degumming method, etc..
